I am currently working on my PhD under the supervision of Dr Jonathan Goodman at the University of Cambridge, where I also completed my MSci. I use molecular modelling to gain insight into asymmetric reactions that are commonly used in organic synthesis, such as the boron aldol reaction. A full analysis of competing reaction pathways allows us to explain the origins of stereoinduction and enables us to generate new predictive models to aid and inform the planning of new synthetic routes towards complex natural products. I also use computational techniques to help understand the mode of action of bioactive natural products and in the intelligent design of more-potent synthetic analogues.
I am captain of the University Chemlabs football team and a member of Happy Attack
