James Dewar
Born on this day, 1842; Ob 1923. Educated at Edinburgh University, lectured at the Royal Veterinary Collegem analysed manure at the Highland and Agricultural Society, before becoming Jacksonian Professor at Cambridge and a fellow of Peterhouse. Was the first to liquify many gases and invented the Dewar flask (vaccum flask).
